Bengaluru made some school boys errors to concede both the goals. Roy Krishna and Marcelinho partnership is the real deal for ATK Mohun Bagan. Specially with Lenny Rodriguez in the midfield, Mariners were all over the blues. Marcelinho got a good chance in the 7th minute of the match while Roy Krishna got an opportunity in the 18th minute but both the times Gurpreet Singh Sandhu made good saves to keep Bengaluru into the game.
Carl Mchugh threw another shot in the 30th minute and once again Gurpreet made another brilliant save as Bengaluru looked to lose control of the match.
In the 37th minute, ATK Mohun Bagan finally broke the deadlock as Roy Krishna scored from the penalty after a horrible foul made by Pratik to bring Krishna down. The Fijian made no mistake and ATK Mohun Bagan went 1-0 up.
Just few minutes later, Harmanjot Khabra made a horrible tackle just outside the box. Both the Penalty and this this foul were simply school boy errors from the Bengaluru players. Marcelinho stepped up and scored a brilliant goal from the free-kick to put Mariners 2-0 up.
It was same in the second half. Gurpreet Singh Sandhu was brilliant under the bar otherwise the scoreline could’ve been different at the end of the night. In the 49th minute, Sandesh Jhingan’s powerful shot was once again brilliantly stopped by Gurpreet.
Throughout the second half ATK Mohun Bagan kept pressure in the Bengaluru defence. Gurpreet was ready for everything. Sunil Chhetri finally got a chance to pull one back for Arindam had no problem whatsoever to save it.
